This sculpture compares the dolphin on a swing with the canaries in the coal mine that were used to detect toxic gases, thus preventing the deaths of miners.

Sea mammals are dying as a result of the pollution and other hazards we humans are causing.
Their plight is a cry to us that all mammals, including us, are in danger of extinction.

Many of the whales depicted in the Robbins’ woodcarvings are already endangered. With prompt intervention, we may be able to save these beautiful creatures for future generations to enjoy.
